The Centre for librarian and cultural services uses the premises of the former Jesuit College in the historical city centre. It includes the library, a study room, a reading room with internet connection, a coffee room, and a gallery. Cultural events and concerts are convened in the saloons and also in the pleasant environment of the renaissance atrium.
The Authority for cultural facilities in Chomutov prepares a regular program for the visitors of the City theatre in the City park and the Community centre in the Zahradní urban settlement. Concerts, theatre plays, entertainment shows, balls, and other events for all age groups are convened there.
Film fans will enjoy a visit to the cinemas. Oko cinema is located in Lipská Street, near the city centre and in the summer, visitors and citizens can enjoy the summer cinema on the Alum Lake premises.
